Impruneta is located in the green valley between Florence and Greve in Chianti, famous worldwide for the handcrafted pottery and the local production of wine and olive oil. Likewise, there are many other interesting sights in Impruneta and surrounding villages. Throughout the year there are festivals and cultural activities that make the short journey from Florence worthwhile.

For our golfing guests, located 10 minutes from Podere le Cave is Golf Ugolino. The oldest course in Tuscany and one of the oldest in Italy, Golf Ugolino is a natural course built in 1934 in the Chianti hills and it best makes use of the natural characteristics of the Tuscan landscape: the cypress trees and olive trees, the slopes that curve and follow the magnificent scenery, the small greens which are often very well-defended. The course is a par 72, 6,278 yard (5,741 meters) designed by British architects Blandford and Gannon and was the host of the 1983 Italian Open, won by Bernard Langer in a play-off against Steve Ballesteros. We offer a variety of menus, which are very typical for Italian meals, such as home-made pasta, tomato sauce, eggplant parmesan, pizza, bread, meat sauce, etc.
Italian cooking lesson: crostini di fegatini (chicken liver patè), pappa al pomodoro (tomato soup with bread), roast pork, fagioli all' uccelletto (beans with tomato sauce and sage), biscottini di Prato e vin santo (cookies with almonds). Home-made pasta lesson meat souce, lasagne, tagliatelle with cream and prosciutto, ravioli (ricotta and spinach filling). Pizza, bread and focacce lesson, ciabatta bread, pizza, focaccia di Recco (filling of fresh cheese), bread with nuts, lard and cheese. Summer cooking lesson: tomato pudding, creamed pepper soup with goat cheese, escalope and zucchini marinated with wine vinegar, fuite brulè, fiori di zucchine ripieni di ricotta (ripe zucchini stuffed with ricotta cheese), tagliolini with lemon sauce, meat rolls, strawberry mousse.
